Window Fittings

The handles and friction stays are the moving parts of a window and should get as much care as the frames.


Cleaning Intervals:

Please apply the same cleaning schedule as the stainless steel handles.

Maintenance – Friction stays 1.None.Clean friction stay channels with an old toothbrush to clear dust
Maintenance – Friction stays 2.None.Do not apply any lubricants to the slide of the friction stay as it will cause it to lose its resistance and fail to remain in the open position.
Maintenance – Window handlesMild soapy water. Preferably warm.Ensure the nylon wedge on the handle remains dry and free of debris or it will scratch the aluminium over time
Handles.Mild soapy water. Preferably warm.Wash down with clean water and dry off with a soft cloth.
Hinges.None.Our hinges require no lubricant.
Sticky locks.None.Apply a high viscosity oil to the latch and dead lock in the open position. Open and close to lubricate the latches.
Sticky cylinders.None.Use WD40 or similar lubricant or graphite lock powder available from most lock smiths.
